NARS AUDACIOUS LIPSTICKS: REVIEW + SWATCHES

To say that the Nars Audacious Lipsticks are a Godsend would be an understatement. I have been living off these babies and I'm slowly building up my collection. Everything about these lipsticks had me swooning, and before I even used it I knew it would be perfection at its finest. Most of the time high end make-up products are over-hyped (mainly because of their 'brand name') but these luxurious blessings are nothing short of magnificent. These deserve even more praise than they already receive!

PACKAGING:
The lipstick comes in a sleek, matte-black case with a magnetic closure (It's so cool! I stick these on my whiteboard sometimes when I'm bored) and the packaging is DEFINITELY an upgrade from their older lipsticks. The box it comes in is sturdier and is much safer (and prettier) than the regular cardboard packaging Nars originally uses.

COLOUR RANGE:

You will have no trouble at all finding your perfect shade of red, purple, pink, orange or nude when it comes to these angels. There are forty different shades to choose from although in Australia you can barely find any at all! Melbourne needs to step up their Nars Audacious game because I have been to several Mecca Cosmetica/Maxima stores/stands (the only place that stocks Nars in Australia) and even the NARS Boutique and there are only ever ten shades (or less) out of the 40 in stock!

FORMULA AND FINISH:

I cannot rave enough about the lipstick formula! It's so goddamn beautiful I nearly had a heart attack in the middle of Mecca when I first swatched it. I swear it's made out of butter because...well, it feels like you're putting butter on your lips (As a vegan, am I allowed to say that...?). I'll rephrase that: It feels like vegan butter on your lips. It totally does! Nars took lipstick to a whole new level when they introduced these into the make-up world. They officially killed the lipstick game and has led me to believe that no other company can make a satin lipstick as grand as this. The finish is perfect for those with dry/cracked lips as they glide on seamlessly and last for hours without drying your lips out. One swipe is all you need for an intense application of colour and I'm not even joking. This is how strong the colour payoff is:

NARS Audacious lipstick in Lana (on the right) compared to the old formula lipstick (NARS Semi Matte lipstick in Heat Wave). This is ONE swipe. Did your heart just skip a beat? Yeah, I know. YOU NEED THIS LIPSTICK.

PRICE:

The only thing stopping people from buying the Audacious Lipsticks is probably the $44 (Australian price) price tag. I was lucky enough to receive all my lipsticks (except one) from the most gorgeous girl everrrrrrr. Although in my opinion it is worth EVERY CENT and I think everyone should own at least one of these.

Here are some of the colours on my lips:

Greta. Think of it as an upgrade of Lime Crime's Centrifuschia. (Sorry LC)

Audrey. I don't even know what colour category this falls under! It's gorgeous!

Lana. My favourite, so far! I seriously think this was made for Lana Del Rey because she would rock the hell out of this colour.

Jeanne-the first, and only Audacious lipstick I've purchased myself (How lucky am I?!)

Leslie. The perfect grungey colour-but not too intense.

Thanks for reading!
Sylvia

Lana is for Lana Turner, not Lana del Rey. :)
